My first attempt at 50 yards!
« on: March 19, 2009, 11:36:45 AM »
I was shocked I switched to the monotech G5's because I liked the idea of practice tips. So I got my practice tips to get my bow tuned before turkey season. After about 20 minutes of readjusting and learning some new info from the brother-in-law I was dialed in. Now knowing I will never shoot at 50 or 60 yards I read somewhere that practicing at this yardage will make for better 40 yard shots so this is how my first attempt turned out.

p.s. pink fl etchings are mine and the green ones are the brother-in-law

Were you moving side to side, looks like yours were entering at different angles?

I noticed that also. I probably moved a little, because my arrows were lying on the ground. We were also alternating shots so I would shoot after him, and my bow is heavier poundage so it moves the target farther than his bow does. so between my movement and the targets back and forth movement is where I think the different angles come from. When I shoot alone my arrows don't do that so I simply didn't think it was a concern, am I wrong is it a concern?

I got tired of everyone having the same green color as me, as all the people I hunt with have green. So I wanted something different, at least no one can say no way I shot that         !!

That's right you committed like me and limited your time in the field.

Yep, after the wedding the groups go from this o to this O.  Somehow the practice time dwindles until about 10 years into the marriage when she's tired of you always being around so close.

 :yeah:

10 years?  I am past that and hoping for 15.  At this point I am waiting for both boys to get old enough that I can use getting them out of the house as an excuse... right now it only works with the older one... and leaving her with a squalling 1 year old doesn't make it look like I am doing her any favors, just rescuing myself... :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
