Riekkola Unit will be open to youth waterfowl hunters only on Saturday October 20. The Ben Welton Memorial Youth Waterfowl Hunt provides young waterfowl hunters the opportunity to develop their skills without the pressures of the regular season. Hunter education, food, and prizes will be provided. Hope to see you there!
Ben Welton was a life time conservationist and advocate for waterfowl and hunting. He was also refuge volunteer, Friends of Willapa Refuge board member, director of Washington Brant Foundation, lifetime member of Ducks Unlimited/Ducks Unlimited Washington and Northwest Washington Waterfowl Association, and chair of waterfowl advisory group for Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife. Ben passed away in 2017.
