Opinions on Toyo m/t open country tires

 A friend gave me a pair of these, 35's. On 16's. 12.5

How do you guys like them?  Tires have about 15000 miles on them. Friend gave them to me bc he wanted to lower his rig and he said they were too loud.

The wife runs 35’s on her Jeep... they are loud and not fun to run at freeway speeds.

I have had 6 sets of Toyo M/T's on 3 different vehicles.  I am done after the last set I had.  They changed the rubber composition and they wear out too fast, for the price in my opinion.  I got 22k on the last set, on a 2500 Cummins.  The first set on a 1500 Chevy net 67K.

I have a set of Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 on my 2500 Cummins now.  The set has 20k on it and I have about 40% left.  The big difference here is that these were almost 1/2 the price.

But all of that is worthless information to you because your set was free.  Enjoy them.

My buddy uses these tires, they are on all his trucks, he’s a logger spends a lot of time on the dirt roads and he says he hardly ever gets flats.

Right. I'm a logger myself,  and was wanting to know how tough they are.

I’ve ran them for years on my one ton diesel rigs, one hauls a lot of FW and the tires get aired down a lot in the snow, of all the sets I’ve ran I’ve only had one flat, on a bald set. Got 60k out of one set (on the one rig the odometer works on) before I switched to something cheap 

I think they are awesome on heavy rigs but aren’t great on lighter rigs, like said with the Jeep. But I’ve heard of the compound change as well and that they aren’t lasting. I’m due for another set for the FW truck this winter and I’m hoping they last as long as the last set. Of course those are 40’s and last time I checked they were about 560 a tire

Have a set on my tundra and just crossed 60K mikes on them.  Gonna try and make it through this hunting season and probably get another set.  Only downside is I’m not overly impressed with them in the snow.

I had them on my 1500 and hated them for snow and ice. Even siped (?) they had crappy traction. The rubber must be to hard or something. They might work great on the westside, by not living in constant freezing, snowing winters.

Plus, they are expensive and over rated.

Tough, look cool, ok in mud.  Mileage sucks on heavy rigs but good on half tons and jeeps!  Suck snow n ice.  Loudish.  I hated em and wore out fast.  Truth is the Toyo AT is much better tire.

Hankook Dyna Pro A/T is what I ran for years in Curlew, Sucked in snow and ice, but wore very well when kept up rotating etc.

I switched from the m/t’s to a/t’s with my last set. So far so good 👍
