Anyone headed out from Spokane to hunt?
« on: October 13, 2018, 05:25:16 PM »
Anyone headed out to hunt, I currently live in Spokane this will be my first year hunting modern firearm season, looking for spots to hunt (a lot to ask I know) I'm looking at colville, most likely going there but unsure, figure if I put on some boots and hike for awhile I should run into something  :dunno:

I’m not sure setting out hiking is the way to go but luck always plays a factor.  I’m really new to hunting but feel comfortable saying that most buck activity is nocturnal this time of year.  Finding good deer sign scouting and getting in before daylight is my plan.
I picked my area (in 111) because it falls between the harvest numbers stats and number of hunters.  I also have always really enjoyed the area hiking and camping.
As a new hunter I really feel the frustration of not knowing if what I’m doing is right/productive and probably won’t until I have some years of success.

Out of all the animals I've ever shot was at 9:00 am. I'm serious. I've also have had good luck hunting at lunch time when everybody takes a nap.

I'm hoping to catch a bunch of mule deer laying down somewhere, plan on just walking up around the ridgeline and scoping them out, that's normally how I deer hunted in north Dakota but now I have not a clue but hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised,
