Advice on Remote Shutter Release?
« on: March 19, 2009, 09:20:22 PM »
Added a better tripod.   Long range pics looking sharper, but if I could get my big mitts off the shutter button they'd be better.

Do you guys use wired/wireless shutter release?  I saw some enable AF others don't.

Thanks again for all advice, I bought a Canon versus Nikon just because of the access to good info here.  Hope to reciprocate on down the road.

Pope - the tip on John Shaw's books was a good one.  Nice to read something written in a no BS type of style.

Hey Grizzle, until you pick up a remote, I just get my camera situated for the shot and put it on the timer, hit the button and listen for the shutter, seems to work okay.

Some of the cheap wireless ones off ebay work well.  I have the wired one and it's fine.  I do use the 2 second self timer more often but both work good.  If you want even sharper images and your shutter speed is slow look into mirror lock up.

It's a fun hobby.  Let us know if you need help.
