Meindl logger boots
« on: October 19, 2018, 09:56:05 AM »
Seems like everyone hunting on the West side could use a little more traction, especially when elk hunting.  For just about all my hunting nowadays I've made the switch to wearing my old cork boots.   Now I know a lot of folks hate em because they are kind of old fashioned  and have a stacked heel. I hate em too.

My hooktender turned me onto these boots. Built more like a hunting boot. No pronounced heel, super stiff and supportive.  Gore tex.  I really recommend them for hunting.  Get a pair, wear em out walking and wear those nails down. That'll quiet em down alot and make em easier to walk in. Or just walk on the grass on the side of the log rd. Easy to pedal a bike too.  Nothing like being able to walk up and down over just about anything,  hands free, and know you ain't falling. Good quality.  I get 2 years per pair, working, then I retire them for hunting.  Nothing quieter in the timber either.

Agreed, all leather boots are old school, and synthetic material is so much better.  But these are legacy boots now, I doubt I will ever buy another pair of caulks.  But these Hoffman's are too good not to keep.  They have their place.
