First Washington Deer
« on: October 19, 2018, 03:01:03 PM »
Just moved to Washington at the end of May from Florida. Have to say it felt good to get back in the woods and hunting after 9 years living in the land of little deer that weren't worth hunting. Had a friend that I met told me that if I wanted to get a deer just come hunting with him, so I did.
It's only trouble if you get caught. Otherwise it is an adventure.

Thanks. It was a great trip. We headed back into the mountains Friday before opening day to set up camp. Hunted Saturday, then got him on Sunday morning at 10:00am.  I think I can get used to this. Only thing is, now my season is over.

Nice to have friends like that! I have been figuring it out on my own, and can say I am a bit jelly that you have a friend that helped you out :).

Nice buck. Welcome to HuntWa and the Left Coast. It won't take you long to forget FL, especially during the summer.

Don't know that I will ever forget about Florida. Already miss spearfishing and warm water. Went salmon fishing once out on Whidbey Island. When I had to squeeze into 30 feet of public beach because everything else is private, decided that I will be traveling back to Florida a couple times a year. But at least the deer here are worth hunting.
