Confusing Elk Kill

In past years, WDFW use to shoot any elk they found in the Methow, I wonder if they are back to that practice?

I read the thread, sounds like two different people saw an elk in the back of the truck.  It like the Wdfw guy is trying to convince them it wasn’t an elk.  Smells fishy to me.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

Wonder if I could have an elk in the truck and try to convince WDFW it is not what they saw....  :bdid:

This seems totally odd! State spends tons of $$ on teaching hunters to identify their target, know your game, be sure you know the difference between, mule deer and whitetail, know the antlers, true spike for some elk, branched for others, wolf and coyote, black and grizzly bear, yet when you know what you see they say...Nope, you are wrong!!

Hope a picture does not emerge of it.  :chuckle:

That's what it sounds like the guy saw what he saw

C'mon bigtex. You normally base your comments on facts, not social media speculation. :dunno:

Interesting.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I think the sarcasm in Mike V.'s posts went well over some heads.  :chuckle:

Maybe just a life size decoy used for catching poachers, or just for driving around to give folks like us something to talk about.

It is true they have had every effort to keep elk out of the Methow.  Reason....might negatively effect the deer herd.   Trying not to choke .....
It is true they are there.
If only they treated wolves like they do the elk. Lol

Its crazy... You can tell how detrimental elk herds are to deer herds... Look at Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho....

Elk season in the Methow starts this weekend.
People get offended at nothing at all. So, speak your mind and be unapologetic.

:chuckle: very true bone, I have seen many elk in the Methow over the years as I know you have also, you and I had some conversation awhile ago about an area that held a lot of elk at one time, yep if they only treated the predator explosion over there the way they treat those pesky elk.
