Weather looks pretty mild for snow unless you’re hunting summer range country.

Yeah the negativity around it is a bummer, I waited 11 years for this tag. Regardless of the outcome I've got 11 days to hunt in Nov which is unique in itself. I hope there are lots of bucks and I can find a good one but if not I'm determined not to be down about it before I get there!

I hope it snows also, but weather and deer are out of my control

I can’t wait to get out and glass for my dad. First time he’s ever going to get to experience the mule deer rut. Gonna be tough for sure because he’s never let a legal buck walk. I’ll make sure he lets a few go this year.

I'm getting psyched for my late Gardner tag.  I know the population is way down, but I've waited years for a tag.  It's going to be a treat to just be there during the rut, and to hunt the area without hordes of people around.  I couldn't care less if I get one or not.

Low harvest during general rifle should help, could be some good hunts happening with a little weather

The one thing really going for you is that there was little migration for the general, so what there is that migrates should all be there for your pickings.

Enjoy the time with the rutting mule deer, and being able to see deer from the rig without a sea of orange.  it's a great time of the year in great country.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Getting excited here as well. My dad and I finally drew Pogue again after 11 yrs. The last time I shot a large 2 point on the last afternoon. I shot this guy because there were no larger bucks around and I didn't want him passing any more genes around. This year I took two weeks off.

Can't believe it's been that long. What I still can't believe is your dads buck gave me the slip the last day of general for the 2nd year in a row. It was cool to finally see him up close and that your dad was able to tag a great buck in a spot where he'd hunted for years in the general. Good luck to you two.

Lower your standards and enjoy the hunt that takes 12-20 years to draw , burn Washington points then hunt out of state ! Show me any other state that with 15 points that doesn't have trophy bucks .

Right on.  That's the better attitude to have.  Even a quality tag still requires some effort, and that adds to the quality of the experience.
