SE Idaho, round #2 of #3 (pics added)
« on: October 26, 2018, 09:16:37 PM »
Tomorrow I kick off what I’ll refer to as round #2 of a year dubbed Trifecta.  Last month was my Peaches Ridge Muzzy Hunt, the next few days will be SE Idaho modem elk, and November will round off the Trifecta with my Swakane mule deer hunt.  I feel so dang lucky to not only have 3 hunts planned this year but each of them are unique in their own way; lots of quality time with family and friend..  I’ve got surprisingly good cell service so I’ll update along the way; I think it’d be fun to routinely update as this will be something I can look back on years down the road.

Day #2, finally into elk.  Have seen over a dozen bulls today, one of which might be a shooter.  He’s bedded in a very tricky spot, not to mention his harem of cows is over 100 head.  We’re pouring over the maps trying to find the best approach to get a closer look.  Stay tuned

Sweet, it’s always amazing to see that many elk in a herd when your hunting!  Good luck
