Whatever happens, you must bow to the will of the people.

I'd say the poll speaks for itself.
Vote for Dan-o👍

I love that Dan-o's 7 RUM has 13 votes but Kentrek only has one; you guys are super rude! :chuckle: It's a shame because the 270 RUM is SOOOOO much cooler than a 7mm.

The 416 is actually holding it's own too. This is just going to get even better when I end up building something stupid like a 350 Rem Mag off of this action.

Maybe a simple '06 or a .270? Take it back to old school! I remember a few years back when my friend Wayne Van Zwoll hunted everything that year with a Marlin 336 30-30! 😉

I'm familiar with Pro's work and he's got some great wildcats, even if his personality is a bit abrasive at times. ;) I've been thinking about something off the Lapua or Norma case for a while but I fall into that category of people who think the Rem 700 is right on the edge when you open up the bolt face to take a .580 rim. I guess the good news is that I've got a buddy with a brand new Kelbly Atlas 338 Lapua repeater actions that he wants to sell. Maybe what I should be doing is ditching this Remington and go to a real action.

I used a 30-30 Contender one year, does that count? :chuckle:

I have a strict no 30-06, 308, 270 Win, 223 or anything Creedmoor policy in my house. If I spent real money building a 30-06 I'd have to commit myself to a mental institution!

Throw together this action in a standard cal to sell to dano and reinvest to a 375 or 416 norma repeater....short barrel with a folding manners...would be an awesome package

Yorke, for what it's worth, my 300AX (Kirby's version of the 30-338 Lap Imp) was built by him on my LA Rem 700 quite a few years ago and it's still going strong slinging the 230 Bergers 3250fps from its 28in Lilja fluted #6 10tw barrel.  If I'd had an extra custom action sitting around doing nothing, like I did that LA Rem700, I'm sure I would have used it for this build, but I didn't and this one has turned out pretty well.

This is before I added an adj cheek piece and had it cerakoted.  It's not even all that heavy.  The only issue I had was it took three fricken years to get done.

Copy that. But don't you tire, as many have, of trying to build something that offers not so much than has already been built and designed? Many, and some in here also, spend so much time and $$'s to try and design what, basically, what has all ready been done, designed, proven, built, and marketed? I've seen many from 22-as big as you can go..many cartridges, from 6×45 to fancy names as Thor, Sage, and so forth. But offer less then is already out there under names such as Arnold, Lazzeroni etc..yes, you do have something unique in the Boxmonkey, but many ride the laurels of those before them with nothing but a twerk or 2 to shoulder or wall configuration..hence, my comment to try something more common and push it to the nth degree in accuracy. That would at least be less boring is all..
Love what you do with the hand cannons though! Makes Swiggett, Mileck, and the rest proud as you definitely pick up where they left off👍👍

It’s just fun to make something different. Even if it does the same ting
https://www.howlforwildlife.org/take_action  It takes 10 seconds and it’s free. To easy to make an excuse not to make your voice heard!!!!!!

If I had a chrome-moly action I'd feel better about opening up the bolt face. I'm pretty sure that blued Rem and Savage actions are the only factory actions that Kirby and a lot of other smiths will build on. I know Savage will only build Lapuas on chrome-moly actions.

I got bored with the extreme accuracy a couple years ago when I had a factory Savage LRPV 22-250 that was a legitimate .25 MOA rifle, with a pile of targets in the mid .1's. That's when I moved towards the larger calibers and longer ranges. Since I'm incredibly cheap, I wanted to get the most performance I could for the lowest initial investment possible. The 375 BME was the result of trying to get as close as possible to the 375 CT out of a Savage action using readily available components. That's the primary goal of all the wildcats I've worked with, as much performance as I could get using components that the average guy could afford and that could be built for a decent price. Whenever possible I want to be able to use available dies and have the option to rechamber a factory barrel. The 338/375 is a great example of that and Jasent has had great luck with it so far. The 270 Boondoggle and 25 Boondoggle Short both follow the same principal.

It’s just fun to make something different. Even if it does the same ting
That pretty much sums it up. I'm trying to be different, just like everybody else. :chuckle:
