 Nice write up...they grow up so fast..my focus is more about my kid getting a deer than me so Im sure having both your sons be successful tops your list of coolest things ever.

Honestly this is Rocky's 5th big game animal and my younger sons 2nd. I don't even know why I buy myself a tag anymore. I did end up killing a buck this year on the last day of the season I was with the younger boy and he talked me into it. He was my mule. He packed both hind quarters, both backstraps and both tenderloins (2 miles). The memories we are making right now are for sure the best hunting memories of my life.
Lead em if they're running.

They do grow up so fast!!!! But man is it bittersweet to watch them become young men and women!!! I am in the camp of why buy a tag....POINTS! I will draw my late buck and quality buck with my son in the coming years! Hope to shoot one whitetail and one mule deer for the wall (even if just the barn) on a hunt with my son and then I will likely be done with big game in this state.

Great post, congrats to ALL of you on some great deer and FANTASTIC memories!!!!

Congratulations to you and your sons! I hate to tell you, but time is just going to keep going by faster and faster. My kids are all married and on their own now, but getting to hunt with them is still the highlight of the year for me.

Very well told, Jaeger. Nice story.
