It is better to be consistently incorrect than inconsistently correct...

Sarcasm: The ability to insult stupid people without them realizing it.

My level of sarcasm depends on your level of stupidity...

Sarcasm makes smart people laugh and stupid people mad.

Where your yellow line is in not exactly antler, that is the covered in hair and I would call that the skull.

If a guy can shoot bullwinkle in a spike only area I know I could get cleared for shooting this bull.  :chuckle:
isn’t that the truth! But if your going to make it worth your while you might just want to kill a 400” bull  :dunno: :chuckle:

Here's a zoom on what I'm seeing.  You guys think that's within 4"?  Sure seems close to me.

I put a small yellow line as an indicator.

What does that distance have to do with the rule?

I think the distance has everything to do with the rule

It has nothing to do with 4” from the skull. His yellow line is horizontal.

:chuckle: Maybe because the bull is looking down towards the ground...??   :chuckle:

100% 😂😂 Apparently my spacial reasoning wasn’t on point yesterday.  I still think he’s good to go.

The intent certainly was that brow tines on a spike is fine.

LOL Just caught up to all these.  So you guys wouldn't be concerned if that measurement ended up at 4.25"?

I mean they were busting sturgeon fisherman that were .1" over this year.

I think it would be a pretty jacked warden who would do that.  But if you’re that concerned don’t shoot.  But it looks good to me! But I also don’t spike hunt...😂😂

The pedicles on Spike elk are often goofy tall, as in this case. (just google spike elk images)

The question in this thread seems to be where to start the 4" measurement, the top of the skull plate, or the top of the pedicle?

The law doesn't mention "top of skull", the law says "point where antler attaches". Anyone who shed hunts knows that point is right below the burr at the antler base.

Looking at the OP's pics I'd say that spike has the normal tall pedicle's and that the brow points originate right above and or as part of the burr at the base of the horn.

The "yellow line" measurement looks to be to the top of the skull and goes well below the top of the pedicle. I can also see how one might think the yellow line was horizontal from antler base to antler base.
