I know this poll is just for huntwashington members .
But if you look at deer harvest reports there is twice the amount of deer harvested on the dry side of the state then the wet side. For 2017
East side Harvest district 1-9
18,041
Wet side Harvest district 10-17
8,424

I think most East siders don’t post a lot of kills/pictures for a reason.. ;)

Right now I'm eating the antelope I shot in September, but I have a Palouse whitetail buck tag coming up, so i voted whitetail.

I think the harvest numbers would show 2 different motivations about hunting.  Folks that hint the east side do it for the weeks worth of camping. Better weather, even if cold, and kind of the family communal trip that everyone makes.

West side... whack a deer for the meat. Dont really have to go anywhere just go out for the day.

The fact is that 90% of the game is killed by 10% of the hunters. This is an amazing stat that is the same no matter the hunting discipline.

kind of sad we have succumb to polls to get excited about hunting when it used to be pics of nice bucks and stories. :dunno:

I accidentally shot a muley on the high hunt after 15 years straight of tagging blacktails. Combination of cats and massive amounts of hunters has our blacktail numbers painfully low

I have done this poll for quite a few years just to see the numbers on the forum, it’s not about excitement.😉

 :yeah:

I used to tag out on the logging road less than a mile from my house, now your lucky to see a deer off it.

Lots of predators though, cats, wolves, and bears.😤

Even after logging was basically non-existent on the local NF lands, I'd see at least ten deer each trip.  Now maybe only see two or three and usually after dark.  Have to go all the way to tree farms or high country for more deer.  At the time it was heavily blamed on hair-loss disease.  But interesting is if you go from the woods to the part of town without predators (cats), there are quite a few deer--and they went through hair loss too.
