Potential Wolf North side Rainier

My friend saw this one this evening past the Evan's creek ORV on the north side of Rainer. Not shy at all, came right up to his truck after he rolled down the window and yelled at it. I wasn't there but he was adamant it was too big for a yote. What you guys think? Sorry the picture isnt great.

Who knows but even a tamed wolf wouldn't act friendly like that.

I think it looks more like a dog, as someone else mentioned the legs appear too short.

Years ago while living on North Fort Lewis, first my wife then I saw it twice walking between the houses. It had almost perfect german shepherd markings but was much too heavy to be a shepherd. About that time the kids cat went missing, I found the other two way up a tree. It was seen a month or so later over on main post by Madigan, caught on camera.

Several years later, a retired NCO at social function was bragging about his hobby, raising wolf-shepherd mixes. He lived in are rural area near Roy, McKenna. The other NCO's questioned him and he indicated that there are several other people with that same interest and that is how they buy, swap, or whatever from each other.

The more I look at this, the more I tend to lean towards thinking its a dog. I saw a couple of wolves in the Alaskan peninsula, one of which came within several feet from me. The tall lanky appearance really stuck out when I saw them, and this one is pretty short comparatively. It would have helped to have the head in the picture.

Looks like a Dog, maybe mix/hybrid. Behavior wise, if it’s not to excited when you roll down a window, kinda makes you wonder. Not too sure a wolf would be too jiggy with that.

feet are too small, too much bend in the ankle, legs appear too short, too thick in the midriff, wrong gait. 

It's a fuzzy picture but I don't see wolf.

There is more of this stuff going on then people think.  As a teenager working hayfields/farms one Farmer had wolf hybrid.  What a neat cool dog.  2 yo male.  Extremely athletic, never have seen a dog any breed hold candle to what he would do.  Very smart, strong, big, fast, jumper, hunter, playful and dangerous.  Had to establish a very dominant presence around him.  I really loved that dog but never trusted him.  He would follow tractor across field catching mice at top tractor speed!  leap the creek of 12ft.  Funny thing is this dog  was a pup from litter under his house.  Ya see he bought a female hybrid which ran off for almost a year.  She returned gave birth to these dogs which honestly looked full wolf and ran about 100-120lbs.  She then left again never to return.  He always claimed as an old second generation farmer there was wolves in them hills and she had ran off with the pack.  ??  This was Well behind Adna/ Bunker creek area sort of.  Last farms of valley before Willapas.

It’s fat and well fed and really lacks any kind of shyness or fear of humans. It looks like a fat, half tame wolf. What do I know though.

Not my picture but pulled it off Facebook, poster said from Evans Creek. Story sounded similar to the OP's.
