Wolves have unexpected negative effects on Mountain Lion populations!

The complications caused by wolves are complex and misunderstood by most... They run Mountain Lions off their kills causing them to need to kill over and over before ever getting to feed... They dig bears up out of dens during hibernation, kill and eat them... They kill much more game than they consume... They lower reproduction rates in ungulates due to added stress of being chased year round, they cause ungulates to abort their young, and add numbers to winter kill due to added stress during the peak of winter months when ungulates are already struggling to survive.... They lower age class of breeding Bulls and Bucks because mature ones are easy pickings when they are trying to recover from the stress of the rut... On top of that wolves spread diseases to our ungulate populations and cause additional losses in that respect... Now they have pushed so many elk out of the back-country and down into agricultural ground that IDFG has to open extended seasons to attempt to kill off some of those elk that are destroying farmers crops and tearing damaging fences... There are so many aspects to the importance of wolf management... Please support F4WM by becoming a member today at F4WM.ORG

That’s the problem, even in places where they are fair game they are extremely hard to manage
