Martin bows

About a month ago I was going to buy a Martin Howatt T.D. recurve from a guy I work with. When he brought it over for me to look at one of the limbs was twisted. He ended up giving me the bow since buying a new set of limbs from Martin was almost as much as buying a new bow. Lucky Shot Archery helped me out with dealing with Martin and we sent my bow back to them. I just got it back today at NO CHARGE!!! Alls it cost me was shipping to Martin. They did whatever they do to untwist limbs plus put the new limb bolt system on free of charge. I think that they deserve a heads up for customer service.

Yep I would agree, I had to send my recurve back to them and they fixed the problem and had it back to me in no time. They have great customer service.

They have always solved the few problems I've ever had with my Martin bows. I got Chris _D a new cam for his bow just by calling them. It came in the mail 2 days later. I very much like their style of customer service

Yep.  Customer service is one thing they are famous for.  Even better for me, the factory is 5 minutes from my work.  I was shooting in the basement of the armory on my lunch break a couple of years ago, the string slipped off the cam and shattered my upper limb.  I walked into the factory, the receptionist looked at the bow, called the dude that made it up to the front desk, and I was back in the basement with 2 new limbs and a new string before my lunch hour was over...  I teach Hunter Education with a couple of the Martin boys (obviously they teach the archery portion).  Good people.

yeah im like pathfinder, live 5 minutes away, i cracked a limb 2 months ago on my moab. took it in the next day and in 20 minutes i had the new 09 limbs on it free of charge!

My boy and I made it up yesterday for the afternoon.  Got rained on a bit, but still had fun.  Good, challenging course, as always.  My boy took second place in the kids elk bugeling contest last night.  Not many sponsors this year, must be the economy.  Looked like a pretty good turnout, despite the weather.
I was going to put up some pics, but when I got home I realized that I didn't have the memory card in the camera.  Will have to dig out the download cable before I can post.

thats awesome sounds like fun! was there any snow left up there?

Some.  I think the rain took most of the last of it except where it was piled up from plowing or drifts.  Most of the course was a big mud pit, especially after the rain started (around 3:00).  I noticed the crowds thinned out pretty quick when it started getting wet.
I didn't see it, but I guess Friday night a cougar killed a doe and dragged it into a draw up on course "C" of the shoot just a few yards from one of the targets.  Not 200 yards from Camp Wooten.  Creepy.

Yeah, I did.  Only went up Sat, so I didn't turn in a final score.  I shot 303 for the day.  Not real good, but I gess it could have been worse.  We were really rushing to get through A, B and C before it got dark, so I'll blame it on that.  Judging range always kicks my butt, that's where most of my misses come from.  If I know the range I generally shoot pretty good.  I always shoot better if I am in a group and can see one or two guys launch an arrow before it's my turn.  Yesterday it was just me and my boy and like I said we were scrambling since we didn't get up there til 2:00.

yeah thats understandable, its tough to kinda rush through it. i was hoping to make a run through the target range today after work but it was just two wet and windy for my likings

Yeah, with the wind howling like it was today, I don't think there's much sense in shooting past 20 yards.  Might have been quieter out at the range as it's in a canyon. I wonder if it was blasting that way at the Tuccannon Shoot.  I'll bet it affected a lot of scores.

I'd agree about Martins customer service. I have taken my Phantom compound in after Sportsmans screwed it up and they fixed it up nicely as well as they replaced one of my limb noise dampeners after I lost it on a hunt at no charge. The first time I went into the place I was just wanted to see all the displays in the lobby and the receptionest asked me if I'd like a tour... YAH, that would be great! Waited for the tour guide lady to get back from lunch and I got a one on one tour of the factory that lasted more than an hour. Got to see how everything was made and talk to all the employees. After which they gave me 2 hats, a decal and the latest catalog and said come back again.
