« on: November 08, 2018, 10:27:57 AM »
New accura loads easy first shot. But on second sabot comes up 2 inches short of full seating.Extremely hard to seat final 2 inches.I have a cva elkhorn with probably 300 rounds down pipe bergarra barrel. No problems100 grains loose and 250 grain hornnady.

What powder are you using?  What caps or primers are you using?  I have an Accura as well and noticed a definite "crud" ring that forms with Triple 7 and musket caps.  Not that bad after only 1 shot, but if you don't get the crud ring out it can build up over many shots and I could see it causing loading issues.  I shoot Hornady 250 gr SSTs in my Accura and don't have loading issues until about shot 4 or 5 without running a patch down between shots.

You would probably get more advice in the muzzleoader section? :dunno: I usually run a cleaning patch down inbetween shots with my cva wolf shooting basically the same load and that works good.

Google Triple 7 crud ring. It builds up a ring of crud and prevents your bullet from seating all the way. Not sure how to fix this other than trying different powder. Could swab between shots. Some people say they have a problem with it and others say they don't.
