I don't know about here, but we had an upholstery shop fix a canvas wall tent where a bear decided to build new egress through one side to gain entry and through the other side to exit.

Adam is a good dude and has made multiple pieces for me but I don’t think he does shelters but there is another guy on Rokslide that does a lot of shelters but can’t recall his username but he does a lot of light weight silnylon material stuff.

Huh?
Adam made a customer bag that fits on a kifaru frame.

Adam could have made a custom bag that did not line up and did not fit on the frame, but he did it correctly so those guys could use their existing kifaru frames with Adam's custom made bag.

i would start calling your marine canvas shops.. took me like 10 calls to get one interested to fix a tear but worth it. option would also include return to manufacturer (ie montana canvas will fix / repair) problem is shipping costs back n forth...)

Sure, but basically he made a custom bag that is compatible for a kifaru frame, meaning it’s got the slip over option found on a kifaru etc.

What is the difference between your custom bag and an exo 3500?

That’s a big question.  They are completely different bags!  This bag has a side zip, horizontal weapon straps, stretchy pockets, exterior water bladder sleeve that slides between frame, large top pocket with small pocket for headlamp, and then large interior bag.  About 6500 cuI

Yes, I was wanting to see the bag.  I was trying to understand what you were doing differently than what the pack manufacturers were building.  What customized pieces you were after, etc.  Thanks for the info.  What does it weigh in comparison to Kifaru's most comparable bag.  Were there also weight savings to be had or was it all about the configuration you were after?

I know it wasn’t directed towards me but the stuff I had Adam make was because after spending a lot of time in the woods hunting and hiking there was things I thought I would like better but not offered direct from kifaru or any other pack maker so I had him make me the custom pockets and lid.  I was also going to send Adam a kifaru native so he could add a side zip since it will make accessing the inside of the bag easier.  I have never had custom work done solely on weight savings it has always been done to make the packs better work for me with the other gear I use.

I’ll try and get exact weight for you later, but ya there was a weight savings, but I was also running an EMR2 prior which is a big bag.

But most of it had to do with layout and access.

I’ve had a canvas tent repaired st Tacoma Tent & Awning. It was a bunch of years ago,  in, but they did a great job at a fair price.
