No claw prints? Hard to tell if the heel has a 3rd lobe, but it looks like cat to me.

The best way to tell is by measuring it. 3 1/2-4 x 5 inches. They look like wolf tracks to me. That are not cat tracks.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

 :yeah:

Still not definitive, but there's a lot of wolves in 113.   The track is slightly stretched due to the canine jogging (loping) down the trail.

Also, besides the size, another good way to tell wolf from domestic is the gait and path of the trail although still not definitive.

A track over 4 inches and loping in a straight line for long distances is most likely wolf.  domestic dogs tend to stop and smell everything like it's the first time they been in the woods, whereas a wolf track usually has more 'purpose' and covers more distance without stopping and smelling every squirrel crossing.

The track with the bullet is tougher to tell but the front track in the last picture looks like a big lion for sure. Look at the the track in front of the bullet track I think lion

Great point KFhunter... this track had a purpose with straight path down the trail for about 50 yds then bailed off into the reprod.

If the tracks are side by side vs single file wolf, single file cat.

it's a lion, should have seen that right away but I had wolf on the brain reading the thread  :chuckle:

the track by the bullet is the back foot, the front smaller track is the front paw.
