I use the USGS Quad maps.  You can call them and get a free index.  It takes about 3 days to get it, then you can order your maps.  They are 6 dollars each and very nice.  It takes about another 3 days to get your maps.

Scouting on the internet I reccomend google earth as long as you don't have dial up.

Get the Ranger District maps. They are the best for showing roads and road numbers. You should be able to pick one up at the forest service office in Entiat. Actually I think I picked mine up in Cle Elum when I was there getting other maps. I think they're about $4.

I went to mytopo.com and got a pretty good map. It's about $15.

go hunt on the wdfw is a fair start showing public/private lands. usgs topo is as good as it gets. I have delorme map software and it is pretty good too. sportsmans wherehouse has a map maker kiosk in the store that builds what you want, rei has usgs maps.

If you can find a store with a National Geographic kiosk you can get some good custom topos. They are water proof and tear proof.

I bought the National Geographic Topo software package, and absolutely love it. I make custom maps for every hunt we do. Well worth the investment.

I kind of think Joe's has that setup.

I second that Bobcat! Ranger district maps are the only way to go. I got them for our hunt in the Entiat last year, valuable tool to have. I like them because they show every road that has been ever built.

i'll third the ranger district maps. iv yet to find a better map, and at 4-6 bucks you can't beat em. you'll prolly need to stop by the entiat station for that map, i wasn't able to get mine in cle ellum or levenworth. iv tried the national geographic maps at joes and i basically dumped it in the garbage can on my way out the door. although, unless you don't know where the potato creek turn off is i highly doubt you'll need one for your late hunt.... you'll see so many bucks you won't have time to look at a map....

Potatoe or Mud creek roads, if you need more than that then the deer haven't gotten there yet or you are being very selective.

LC sportsmaps in Maple Valley has pretty good maps that show the GMU boundaries, as well as topo features.
