That buck was around about 15 years ago. It basically lived in my buddys mom's backyard. She was the one who originally took the pictures. Sure wish I archery hunted back then :bash:

I am not going to debate genetics at all... well..just for a second or two :chuckle: but in many, many years of spending a lot of time in the Stampede country I never saw a deer that "looked" like a muley... and furthermore...rarely did I see one before I'd get to Cle Elum...???

Not to throw a curve, but I did see what I beleive to be a mulie in Stampede this year. I've been hunting up there for a lot of years and I agree that most of those bucks look like blacktails to me, but I have seen some that looked like benchlegs and then the big one from this year (well '08) that I would call all mulie. Granted he was only about  2 miles from the crest trail, but he was in the stampede and was chasing 4 muley does.
