A lot of areas have already been de-listed federally and already under state management;  NE Washington is under states management, look what that gets us  :bash:

Still, I applaud this bill.

:yeah: It's only good news in States that are hunter friendly..

It also means that despite being at odds with Tribes over issues this may be one way to push back on the state..  I would hope many of us would have a Native on speed dial when we found them.  :twocents:

This topic is full of irony in this regard. Some kind of management may be possible for the very same reasons why there is emotional disagreement.

Could you imagine the heads exploding  when SCI sets up aerial gunning of wolves with Plat hanging out the window with an AR 15?

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

WDFW asked for the delisting, twice.  Patty and Maria need a little push from Jay, Kelly could ask politely for an audience.

Not sure what it matters if they are delisted.  Still have WDFW to deal with and they will not open the gates.  Fact is that in the areas the wolves are causing the most damage here in WA they are already delisted per the article, yet nothing has been done in state to balance things.

The House, still controlled by Republicans for a few more weeks, voted 196-180 to pass H.R. 6784. The measure would strip wolves of federal protection in California, and the western two-thirds of Oregon and Washington. Wolves already have been de-listed in Idaho and the eastern one-third of Oregon and Washington..

You know who our senators are, right?

If I remember right WDFW were in favor of culling wolves after their environmental partners filed a lawsuit to stop any culling. To date there hasn't been any positive wolf predation management. Taking a wolf or two out of a pack that is killing livestock has never worked, and they know this.

Years ago some of the "town dogs" would pack-up at night and chase deer, shooting a few never seem to cure the problem, not that we were experimenting, it just took a little longer to get the whole bunch as they seemed to get pretty weary sneaking back into town.

I do think delisting would make a difference.  It would at least change our current wolf plan, where we are waiting for the wolves to move west.
I doubt Murray would go for delisting.  Maybe Cantwell as she seems slightly less partisan than Murray and just got re-elected.  :twocents:
