Muley back from taxidermist
« on: November 18, 2018, 04:06:50 PM »
I’m really happy with the mount as both ears were about ripped in half and his hide look like an old dogs. One ear was pinched and shredded till it was hanging from fighting and I shot the other ear as he ran through the timber and all I could see was the top of his neck and head. He had a ten inch drop tine a week earlier but I didn’t have a clear shot and he broke it off fighting before I found him again.

That's a great looking buck.  Did you have the taxi repair the ears?

That's a nice buck he looks to be a young one.

I don’t know how old he was as his teeth were too worn to age by a chart. I ground all the meat up as he was really tough. He also had a lot of muscle atrophy in his hind quarters. When I walked up on him I thought he was one of the ugliest deer I had ever seen. His head was unique, as it was short and wide and looked more like a rams head.

Rainier Taxidermy. It was a late season buck and not what I expected. Few deer around, low to mid forties at night and pushing sixty degrees during the day. I found him and a bigger framed heavier buck in a canyon with some does. Sat on my duff for days until he slipped up. Don’t really like road hunting, so I pick spots I think are Bucky and stand hunt with still hunting mixed in.
