FIRST COUGAR KILL
« on: November 22, 2018, 02:13:31 PM »
On the morning of November 17 while deer hunting I was using a grunt tube here and there while posted up on a hill side. Heard something walking but could not pick out where or what it was. I thought at first that it was a person because it was making a lot of noise with the frosty ground until I saw the tip of it's tail. 92 yards with the Remington Model Seven .243. It was either swing the camera around and press record or grab the rifle and squeeze the trigger. I'm sure you can guess what I grabbed. Craziest hunt ever and one that I will never forget. Wildlife biologist determined it was a female around 3-4 years old. Gutted weight was 75lbs at the taxidermist. I'm guessing live weight would be right around 90-100lbs. Enjoy the pictures.

Sweet.  Nice shot. I always buy the tag, but I haven’t ever seen one in the woods.

Watched the video on this, awesome job. Now that rifle season's over for deer, guess I'll go try to grunt in a cat  :chuckle:
