bad brakes, need them done asap and we can't let you leave the lot for liability reasons.
I bought my Michelin's on amazon. saved almost $100 per tire. but I also go them mounted and balanced for free... pays to have family with the right equipment although... dang. My dad closed his shop. No more free alignments, tire mounting, body work, paint, windshield installation... @Woodchuck, you don't know anyone with that kind of hookup, do you?
Sooooo, what's a good all terrain tire to buy for an F150? I haul heavy loads occassionally, pull a large (for f150) travel trailer often, drive in snow at times, and drive on logging roads (including timber co crushed rock that seems to eat tires) often. I'm not into offroading and the majority of the use will be to and from work/around town. If the OP doesn't want me to hijack, let me know and I'll delete.
I think we are going to see more of this drop ship lean inventory in the pipeline. I talked to a Tire shop manager whom said he is increasingly seeing online prices being shown to him that are lower than his purchase price. If there is no return on holding inventory Tire stores wont hold stock except for the really quick movers, which is hard with all the sizes and brands out there,and/or for the really good customers... In short this is a is an acceleration and thinning out of the supply chain. What does this mean for consumers...Freebees are going away. you are now going to pay for everything. If you have a blow out and need an XYZ brand tire and size you are going to pay a premium unless you can wait. I belive we have already seen a rise in the number of small independent used tire shops that are certified installers for drop ship companies. They will only hold used inventory and virtually no new tires. Most people have noticed the rise in used tire shops popping up everywhere. In order to survive selling your service your overhead and investment in inventory has to be low.If you run non stock tire size you should own a full sized spare for your ride on a wheel. If you have a pre 09 non TPMS vehicle then you can probably get away with just the tire just in case. most tire shops wont install a tire older than 7-10 years old. If its already on a wheel you can swap it out yourself. This is a great resource for Pre 09 vehicle so that you can source a spare on a wheel.https://www.crawlpedia.com/bolt_patterns.htm

I posted a screenshot of my price on them, indicating that it was a smoking deal. I looked them up on Amazon....they're a lot less than my cost on them on Amazon and we hardly make any money on tires. 10% over cost is about where we're at to stay competitive. (Those tires in the classifieds are still cheaper than amazon for the record)
Yes, I bought General G-MAX AS-05's for $95/ea SHIPPED (Usually they are $190/ea for my size). Then I bought Cooper CS5 Ultra's for my kids car as well. Challenge at times can be finding a shop to install them and not rake you over the coals. Also worth nothing, if the price is not super crazy cheaper on Amazon, take the print-out in to Discount tire, they will usually price match. For those that use Amazon. Make sure you use smile.amazon.com Smile lets you select a charity of your choice and a donation is made for every purchase you do. My Charity is the NRA Foundation, Inc.
I've done it and discount tire will match the price for the tire and whatever it would cost to ship.Saved me $700 on a set of bfg km2

Discount Tire has been great to me. I bought my set of Cooler ATs a few years ago for my Dakota. Had 21k on them when I had a blowout through the tread. I was going to scrap the Coopers and go back to the tried and true 10 ply BFG AT KOs. Discount gave me 80% credit for the Coopers, applied to the AT KOs. Got them for half off, and they mounted the best Cooper on my spare for free. Even though they had the lowest price on the BFGs, “Good customer service”, I will reword with my business, even if I pay a few dollars more.Les Schwuab, will never see my business again.

Discount tire matched the price of the tire rack on 4 Falken wild peak at-3 ten ply tires. I researched the hell out of them and couldn't be happier. Just came back from WY on real icy roads both in WY and on I-90. Awesome tires and much less than the BF/ko2's There the best tires I ever used foe hunting and winter driving. They will get my business again
