So, exactly what is the correct answer/action???

I can tell you what isn't the answer, and that's hoping for more wolves!

It's a catch 22

If you're coming from the "we won't ever be able to hunt wolves no matter if the plan is fully realized or not" camp then your position makes perfect since, still the membership here have come a long ways from when I got here in 2011 when many members were excited about wolves and didn't think a lot of harm would come from them being here (wolves will make you a better hunter)...if I read back in the archives it's interesting who's positions have changed

And yet we still have the huntwa cheerleaders drooling that we hit the 15BP threshold so WDFW will issue tags, while our herds continue to dwindle..... :mor:

Phool I think the chances of hunting wolves in this state are slim to none.  I feel much more confident in the OIL points I have for a sheep and that's almost a no win as well.   :chuckle:

I think there's going to be some hunting, the question is will tags be issued.

A big part of the wolf plan is public acceptance, in order to have public acceptance there must be public trust, and WDFW has done a miserable job at that.

I envision a point where literally everyone will say "screw it"   :mgun:

I kind of think many rural areas are past the point and have been for quite some time, I can speak for the Okanogan at least.

WDFW are doing another deer impact study, most on H-W, know by now what wolves do to the ungulates etc., so WDF&Wolves are just blowing more $$.

I talk to a guy the other day that said he and his dad were opening up Little Bridge Cr in the spring of 1999 for fire wood cutting and had five wolves come right in around them, he said they saw five but could hear others howling.

It took reporting a wolf pack hanging out at a school bus stop to the WSP before WDFW would confirm a wolf pack. And then they pretended it was the only one for several years, and as everyone has seen they have slow walked confirming wolf BPs etc..

WA has lost, rural area after rural area will be shut down to hunting due to wolves, cougars, etc. excessive predation, meanwhile WDF&Wolves will continue with their BS studies that everyone with half a brain already knows the answer to.

They are will established, numerous beyond official counts, spreading quickly and very troublesome.  The answer is quit spending money on them, except damage claims, and give them the same status as a coyote.  They will do just fine
