Just picked mine up Friday from a taxidermist that would like to remain nameless. But If I hadn't have found this gentleman, Phil Soucy was going to get it.
Can you at least PM me the name of the taxidermist. I’ve got a cat I’m looking to have done and I’d love to chat with him. I’ve also been look at these guys, http://www.clemmenstaxidermy.com/28501.html
They’re close to home but convincing the wife I need to drop $5000 on a lifesize cat that she doesn’t even want me to do is a tall order.

That might work if I had an extra 5G in the bank and she hadn’t already threatened divorce if I do it. At this point I’m halfway tempted to cut losses and get a rug done but this is a special cat, my first, and may make B&C all time. I really wanna do it justice.

Depending on where you go, typically you don't need all the money upfront. I have even had taxis turn down full payment until delivery. Not sure if that makes the financial burden any easier but something to consider.

Another option might be to have the cape tanned, then it's at least preserved and you can wait till your ready to have the job completed.

Oh I get that, but even if I give up some hunts I wanna do like POW blacktails and Wyoming antelope over the next couple years my wife says “that cat will never be displayed in our house”. She really didn’t want me to even shoot one. I was after the meat as I’ve heard how delicious they are, ended up with a giant tom that everybody is telling me I need to mount because I’ll never get a better one.
