glad I live in the country, where coyotes eat all the stray cats that come try to kill my quail.

Good point, I see that now.  I guess I found the wrong story after I heard about the incident.  I will look some more; I heard it got press coverage.

Personally I think that "outdoor" pet cats are a nuisance and a menace to birds and other small animals and should be considered an invasive species. I have a pet cat, and if he ever ends up injured or killed in a trap or otherwise, that would be on me for letting him get out.  :twocents:
