One of the guns that should be included is a break action shot gun.   I really like my stage coach side by side... why do you ask? A shot gun is truly the 1 multipurpose gun and a a sing or double barrel can do stuff a pump or auto cannot.

Cut shotshells and wax slugs work better out of a beach loader.  While a cut shell isnt as good as a slug of any kind, you can almost always find bird shot. Not to mention a double barrel doesnt really meet the scary black gun threshold. I've played with using plain trap shells and replacing the pellets with home poured buckshot and  key drive slugs. So far I've been impressed with the basic utility of this setup.

When the end comes I’m putting my faith in something other than guns. That’s just going to buy you time for the inevitable.

There are an extremely small number of scenarios where bugging out is the right thing to do. Your energy is better spent thinking about how to fortify your home and stock enough supplies to wait out trouble.
:yeah:
Already ahead of it, that's why I'm staying put.  ;)

If you live in the right area, no reason to leave.😉

That's what I was going to say... I'm not going anywhere.   :chuckle:

Trusting that your "Zombie Apocalypse" happens while I'm still young enough to pull the trigger on my favorite "Weapon of Choice". I choose a gun that will either wear out or break, long before I run out of Ammo.
Albeit said Gun would not be my "first choice" in a gunfight, but as a survival tool in a "no rules scenario" where harvesting food will be first on the agenda, I would choose.......

Years Back, a friend of mine, (who farms in Eastern Washington,) had his 10 year old Son come to him with this question, (after receiving his first gun for Christmas)
"Dad, if I were to shoot a Deer in the eye, would it kill it?" :hunt2:

"Well, Son, if you were a good enough shot and you could sneak up close enough to hit it in the eye.....there is a chance that it could likely be killed."

With that his son smiling, took off, headed down toward the creek.

Not thinking much about it, my friend continued the job he was working on.
Until after a few hours went by, looking up he spotted his son running back up the hill all excited.  :hello:

"Dad, Dad, I got my Deer!" he proudly announced.
"What do you mean you got your deer? Deer Season isn't even open!"
:yike:

Doing what he felt he was obligated to do, he got on the phone and let the "Powers to Be" know what had happened.

"You say your Son just shot a Doe in the eye with his BB Gun on your own property and she is hanging in your barn now?"

"Yes Sir, and my son and I have just had a "Man to Man" talk about obeying the Law and the consequence's of not following the Rules".

"Fine!  Now I know your family has been struggling to make ends meet lately and if there is a deer hanging out of sight in your barn instead of raiding your crops......and if I don't hear anymore about this....well, I'm sure your family could use the meat."

"You let your Son know that we agree, this will not be happening again!......and by the way, you can tell him from me..... "NICE SHOT"

( I'll be taking my BB GUN!)
Doug

I have a Crossman 760 in my garage that I bought at 12 from Pay-N-Pak.
Shoots perfectly fine, lol

I have a 760 that I got 36 years ago and works like new.
Never replaced anything on it.

I have 12 or 14 Daisy Red Rider BB guns (Daughter and I have won a lot of tournaments).  We could live on birds and small game for years if we needed to.   :chuckle:

Actually, it is an interesting thought about a mid caliber(.24-.30 caliber) high end air rifle for armageddon. If you have a couple thousand projectiles the propellant is endless. The guns can do plenty of damage. Have some replacement seals/O rings on hand and I am sure you can go forever. I think I just convinced myself to buy one. Anybody have any experience with these?
