Ok so you best bet on a 600 lb black bear is the east coast. Still super uncommon and that bear is Gona be. Slob dump bear or a bear that’s been on soy beans. They can barely move. If you want a color phase then I would look into Idaho with bearpaw and look for a 6.5’ + bear. That is also uncommon. Your other good option is Vancouver island or coastal BC and AK, again shoot for over 6.5’ and they will be black.

Almost sounds like the odds of shooting what you want are about the same as shooting a unicorn.

Central and North Central Pa is a good start; although Butler County has been getting big bears too.  We had a 700-800 pounder going this year. Last year my friend got a 530 pounder with a bow, and the year before we seen one in deer season  that looked like a Volkswagen. Not sure about guides though.

:yeah:
Try Trophy West (https://www.trophywest.com/), they manage the population so they have some dandies. It will be all spot and stock.

As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
