My 2008 Lincoln county lowland Muley!
« on: March 22, 2009, 07:32:39 PM »
Hers is my 2008 lowland Muley from Lincoln county. Fresh back from the taxidermist. He is a nice 4x5 that scores 139 3/8's. He is not very wide or big, but he is my highest scoring deer yet. Shot him 40 minutes after the sunrise opening morning.

Good lookin' mount.  Congrats.  It's kinda sucks when you shoot a deer that early in the season, I shot mine this year 20 minutes into the season.

I would have taken him opening day too.  Nice, chocolate antlers.  Always wanted to hunt over that way.

Bowhunterforever...I shot him northeast of Davenport on the Rosman ranch between Harker canyon and Mill canyon. My grandparents had a wheat ranch right next door to Gary in the 50's and 60's. All the locals know my family name and most of them still remember my grandparents. My dad was a Davenport Gorrilla in football and basketball. For everybody that thinks they may be able to sneek in...good luck...it is 100% locked up private land. I have been hunting the Rosman ranch for about 13 years and have 8 deer to show off. 3 decent whiteys.  If you know Kurt the game warden, he lives down the road in Mill canyon a couple of miles and sometime during the week he always stops in for breakfast. I love to hear his stories of people he catches. But that is a whole different thread!

Ya, my wife and I walked up to him, young kid about 15, his dad after the shot went running back up the road to the gate where they had parked the truck, unloaded the atv and drove down and picked up the deer, I stood there with the kid and told him he was trespassing, he seemed embarrassed, I told him to tag his deer, I watched him do that then just walked away cussing under my breath, from what I gathered his dad knew they were trespassing but I don't think the kid new anything about it.....I called the property owner and he said he would talk to the property owner next door about it.........nothing happened I'm sure, next time I will just call the sheriff.
