I rent a bunch of cars and quite a few have that feature.  It doesn't always turn off, if the battery isn't fully charged or you are draining a ton of electricity it won't.  You can shut it off, but then when you get out and back in it turns itself back on.  I can't imagine it would save enough gas to pay for a starter, but who knows.  I do have some fun just flooring it from an off stop to see what happens.

You guys can just turn the stop/start feature off if you’re afraid of it you know.

It’s about emissions output.  Lots of CO exiting the cars when sitting at stops. Lots of criteria has to be met for it to happen and if one of the needs isn’t met, it won’t happen. Won’t happen with a cold engine, won’t happen if the ambient temp is below a certain point, won’t happen if you have the AC or defrost on,  etc. The list goes on. I think ford has 31 different criteria that have to be met for them to shut off at stops. But like I said, you can just turn it off too.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
