Surprise surprise an ultra right wing website talked about one BS investigation into Zinke and not the others (including the ones that found Zinke violated rules).

Zinke's own Office of Inspector General has referred a criminal investigation to DOJ regarding his actions.

Even the Fox News article on Zinke's resignation provides insight into his "issues".

Great news! 

Here's my take on Zinke:

Con:
-Really was more of a Director of the National Park Service than anything else. He couldn't stop talking about parks. He'd be at a Wildlife Refuge and simply talk about parks.
-Does not like the law enforcement programs under DOI other than the US Park Police. He wouldn't even show up to a meeting with the Chief Federal Game Warden.
-He acted as if he oversaw the US Forest Service even though he doesn't. He frequently talked about managing National Forests, yet the USFS isn't under his department. He even admitted he wanted USFS moved to DOI.
-Supported the grizzly bear move into WA

Pro:
-Was against the sale/transfer of federal lands to private/state entities
-Supported hunting/fishing on DOI lands, although in some instances he took credit for decisions made before his appointment

As far as who will replace him, a lot of rumors have said his Deputy, Dave Bernhardt (who I have personally met), who served as the DOI Solicitor (legal counsel) under GW Bush will likely get the nod but we will have to wait and see.

Raul Labrador of Idaho planned to go to the White House on Saturday to discuss the job with officials, said a GOP congressional aide who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe Labrador’s private plans. Labrador, 51, a member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, who is retiring from Congress after eight years. He lost a bid for his state’s GOP gubernatorial nomination last spring.

Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Calif., is also interested in Zinke’s job, according to another Republican congressional aide who described the situation only on condition of anonymity. The aide said the White House has made inquiries about Denham to Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., who will be House minority leader next year. Denham, 51, has been involved in water issues in California. He lost his bid for re-election last month.

He can be both.   Im sure he was a fine soldier, but as Secretary of Interior he was incompetent and crooked.  I'm glad to see him go

Rep Grivalja of Arizona accused him of ethics violations but no evidence. Rep Grivalja just paid off a female employ with over $40000 of tax payer money for drunken harassment. Sounds like a stand up ethics investigator.  Where’s the metoo outraged gals on this?
