So I’ve got almost 10gpi, 70# draw, Mathews Chill, 150 grain tips, 476 grain total weight but a speed of only 245 FPS. I’ve got a 27” draw, so that’s why my speeds low, looking at my momentum and KE though, if I add 25 FPS with my arrow set up I’ll be in the zone of “cable of taking anything in the world” moose and such or blowing through a heavy shoulder. And to add speed, gotta add draw length.
So I found the goat tuff equalizer release. Adds 1-3” of draw depending on how you set up the release. Looks actually pretty good and seems to have good reviews online. My bow shop has all the mods on hand so we can get the draw to what I want. Only reason I haven’t bought it yet- it’s $200 and in 5 years no one besides Goat tuff has made one. I feel like if it was a great idea more companies would’ve tried to make their own? Has anyone used one? Would that 10-15ft-lb increase be worth $200?
Or am I sitting good where I am? I just added a compound back into my list of longbows and recurves so I’m trying to make my compound the ultimate hunting tool.
