don't waste your time on peterman hill. there are way to many people that hunt that place to see any elk.

I'm not going to hunt it but I'm just curious what GMU that place is in.

There is only a very small population of elk on the hill.  I am always suprised at the amount of people that hunt it for elk.  And deer season is a joke there are more people driving around than there are deer on the whole hill.  I would stay away from it, it is a waste of time.

I don't plan on hunting it.  Sounds like the west side anyways.  I'm just curious what GMU it is so I can have a general feel for what you guys are talking about.  Pure curiousity is all.

I don't think its worth anything till late buck for deer..... a couple years ago my dad and wife and I were deer hunting in there and we got a real good look at a big 6x6 bull about 150 yards away..... big dude probable 290-300 class, I have been in there several times hunting late buck, and that is the only elk I have seen.
I have a friend whose brother hunts Peterman hill religiously during only late buck season and he seems to kill a pig every year in there, hr took a 17 inch 3 pt. in '07 and a 5x5 in 06', he hunts strickly behind the gates.......away from the hordes!!!!

Don't worry sky I'm not going to come over to that place.  I was just curious as to where you guys were talking about.  In any case doesn't sound like too much of  ahoney hole anyways.  In any case don't you know I'm going to draw a Peaches Ridge tag this year.  :chuckle:

You better get at the gates early.  Its no big deal to see 5 to 10 rigs parked at a gate.

I think i talked to the guy who whacked that nice 6x6 on peterman.  Work part of that tree farm there, and done a bit of hunting in there....or rather running elk to other hunters to shoot....close enough to smell their black powder.  Theres tons of people for the amount of animals
