What more do the sitka haters want out of them?  They fired him.  He gone.  I think it's time to move on and find another one of our own to burn......

Nobody knows if he’s been fired or not.

Im not a Sitka hater.  I’m actually looking at dropping a pretty penny on clothing in 2019 and it would be nice to know if my money is being cycled back into organizations who are hoping to eliminate my rights.  :twocents:

Oh they have parted ways.  I've heard it from more than one sitka employee.  He gone

Three of my employees went to a Bernie Sanders rally. The ideas he was pushing would have hurt my small business and would have hurt Amazon whose employees are the largest customer base for our new construction industry. Should I have fired them? Is it realistic for any company to only have employees whose views align strictly with theirs?

Not even remotely close.

Now if they were using a massive social media presence that they had established to publicly alienate a large portion of your customer base while flaunting your company name, I wouldn’t blame you one bit  :chuckle:

Maybe I don't understand Facebook enough to realize but I don't see any mention of sitka in the video or on the page that posted it.

At the time it was posted it was in his Instagram profile.

You're going to have to dumb it down for me lol

Did he post it on sitkas page or as though it was a part of sitka or endorsed by them? That would make it a little easier to understand the backlash but still not sure I personally would be upset.

He was a paid employee in a leadership position at Sitka in a unique spot where he was tasked with being a megaphone for Sitka values.  He has over 100,000 followers on Instagram alone, many due to his position with Sitka. He used that platform to spout anti-gun rhetoric.

If @Karl Blanchard says he’s gone, that’s good enough for me

What exactly was his position? We have had "leads" everywhere I've worked and I wouldn't call any of them leadership positions outside of their immediate crew. Conservation lead doesn't sound like a PR spot but I don't really know what it entails so it could be.

If your workers went on Facebook or Instagram and told people that Amazon should be shutdown and not to trust or do business with Amazon and had your business name displayed in their social media would you have an issue. What if your clients then called up to say they will no longer do business with you after seeing this and it really started hurting your business. If you told them to stop and they didn’t. Would you keep them on?

:dunno: Huh? Did I miss something? The guy in the video is not wearing Sitka, does not reference Sitka, and IMO is not hurting their business.  He is sharing his opinion in a tasteful manner on a public platform. I don't agree with his message but I can respect the delivery. It wont keep me from supporting Sitka regardless of whether he remains employed by them or not. I am sure when hired they were looking at a resume that included a whole lot more than whether or not he supported universal background checks. But maybe that why they run a multi million dollar business and we critique it from our keyboards.

Tasteful manner? Post purposefully uses lies and fake stats to push his anti firearms agenda.
A liar too?

Post lists himself as a Sitka rep/ sponsor on his sites.

He also has come out in support of shutting down hunting seasons in addition to being anti foo

Sounds like a great rep for a hunting gear company

Maybe Sitka can hire a PETA or Defenders of Wildlife member too to increase thier customer base

BV, you came into a little late I think. The guy posted the video, with his work title proudly displayed for everyone to see who he worked for, across his page. Since the video outrage, he has removed the Sitka title from the page. ;)

Because he's been fired...
