.223 Caliber, is it legal in Wash to hunt Cougars with it?
« on: March 23, 2009, 12:32:34 PM »
I checked the gamelaws and I'm confused.  Can you use a .223 caliber for hunting Cougars in Wash State?

Thanks

Just remember it is closed for the year, and the next year rules are all hosed up. Lots of guys will be in trouble next year.

they plan to have a seperate muzzleloader season and bow season then have a general season that starts in like mid oct. they say this is to cut back on the females getting shot. its complete *censored*, they should be open year round

We're allowed two cats per calendar year and now they have a goal to "cut back" because too many are being shot? WTF!? Are they drinking their bath water?

What do the harvest percentage projections for that look like? Without dogs, archery success has to be somewhere in the neighborhood of...oh...say... .0025%.

That's one way to 'make sure' dog walkers don't get shot.

Cat hunting as we know it.

As stated above, seperate weapon seasons, some areas are open to everyone for a certain amount of time then they turn into permit only. It is going to be a mess.
