How to break in new hunting boots..
« on: January 17, 2020, 08:45:46 PM »
I have my method....let’s hear yours. I’m not talking the low 1/4 calf height hiking boot “sneakers”  ;) but real full leather, 9-11 inch boots. Perhaps we’ll help a few new hunters on their way.

With my Kennetreks I just put on and hunt.  Had a buddy that used inexpensive leather boots and he kept a 5 gallon bucket of used motor oil he would submerge the lower half of boots in for a day. Never leaked he said.

That’s one I haven’t heard before.

Wear them on light hikes while getting in shape to see if you get hot spots. If no hot spots, keep wearing them. If you have issues, let your adult son wear them until they are broke in then take them back.
