Electronic calls
« on: March 23, 2009, 05:45:30 PM »
Who uses these for bear?

The the fawns being dropped during spring bear season do the individuals who own electronic calls use this specific call?  I looked on a few call manufactures and they do not have any fawn in distress.

For Western side of the state what sounds do people use in electronic calls?

I have looked at FoxPro, Maniska, Wildlife Technologies and they do not have a fawn in distress in their list of calls.  I like the idea of calling by hand but I would like to put the call about 30 yards into the timber and back out 100 yards and start calling.  I should see the bugger before he see's me.

Lots of great replies above but I will second what some have said.

Most E call companies have a fawn distress. Foxpro has many, some good, some bad. The goats and antelope are great. The bear sounds suck.

I too prefer hand calls for bear, but I will take my Scorpion out this year.

Carl,
I would like to see the blacktail fawn distress.  I could not find it on the sounds you could test in the web page below.

Here is wildlife technologies and they look like they have a muledeer distress.  That is it...

Here is the Minaska call library.  I did not find a deer fawn in distress.

Honestly, the blacktail fawn distress is far down the list. Most of the whitetail fawn distress are way better and like I stated above, so are the goat and antelope.
