Found these 1\4 mile from each other 10 months apart. Is this the same buck?

Can’t be the same buck, unless you photocopied it.🤣

Would need more detailed pics to speak with confidence. It certainly could be depending on where the bone was laying. And the timing of the ten months.

Its a different but possibly

Either way its a win.

There's no way they are a match. They are both right sides. But they COULD be from the same buck in different years. It depends on where they were found for color etc, I have found several confirmed year or 2 old BT sheds that were in great shape protected from the sun in deep ferns with good drainage. And depending on the bucks age the difference in bases would make sense.  These have enough variation I n the tines it's difficult to say for sure. If it we're me I would compare the pedicles, if off the same deer they will be very, very similar in shape and probably size.

It depends a lot on what animal I am after.  :dunno: I am assuming the sheds you posted are from a Blacktail, if so then mixed terrain of heavy timber with fern is where I tend to start. If those are mule or bench sheds then its different and my former posts are also ammended :chuckle:

Different buck
The angle of where they attach to pedicle is alot different and I don't think in one year would change that much

Agree on different buck but similar genetics. I have found sheds almost identical to each other for size and shape with only one having a little eye guard. Also to me I would think a 1/4 mi apart for a blacktail is not likely unless it was pushed hard to leave his area. I could be wrong though.

I used to think the core area was small also but i think in larger areas to cover after lots of scouting. Especially during the rut 1 to 2 mikes is nothing for chasing a doe.

I think different buck too.. there’s that little “crook” at the tip of the one antler and not on the other. I would think that trait would carry over from year to year.. but dang those are some beautiful sheds!
