johnson creek power lines
« on: March 23, 2009, 07:30:35 PM »
I was wondering if anyone knows if the power lines that run east and west off of johnson creek are open to hunting? I used to hunt them years ago when i first started hunting turkey down there and there where a few birds that would hang around there. I haven't hunted there in years and Iam trying to complete my washington slam this year for single season and this was the only area i know.

I live right there and the first hill is all private, they own to the left and right of the power lines and Walyt has a sliver on the next hill but it is well fenced. From there on you sould be good to go but make sure you go around and dont trespass through that private stuff. You will have plenty of competition in there also, it has gotten pounded by Turkey hunters and horse rider something fierce. They also are clearcutting right next the the powerlins  as we speak.

It on the decline I would say, used to see big flocks . Much smaller now. Predation has been a killer too. Ive done my best to keep the yote population down  ;) I gave up on Turkey hunting it, Got sick of all the people in there. I may just be bitter though, I remember the good ol days I never seen anyone  :chuckle:
