It’s a lot of money but it’s cheap entertainment if you ask me. 4 plus months of however much time hunting you want.
Dinner Sunday night was $100 for 3 people. That lasted about 12 hours and then... well we all know what happens then.

 :yeah: :yeah:

Execept, I would say 12 months of entertainment.  Go Fishing, Take up coyote hunting, bird (upland, waterfowl, turkey).  My hunting license keeps me going all year long if I want.  Really a great deal if you truely use it.  If you only hunt a couple weeks a year....it is a tough pill to swallow.

Free meat!
You have got a sick sense of humor but I do like it!!!!  I try to explain to my wife every year that this meat is free!  She reminds me of all of the trips, gas, etc, etc, etc, and then she rolls her eyes and changes the subject.  Problem is, in Washington its becoming a waste of time and money.  Look elsewhere.  Way more BANG for your buck!!!  Just my two cents.

I keep threatening to no longer buy in Wa but I have so dang many points for OIL stuff I cant help myself. Plus being retired now I get to spend a ton of time trompin around in the boonies. About the only place I enjoy now is being out in the woods or open lands chasing roosters with my lab. I will keep buying until I make the move to Id or Mt which will make me a non resident here and I not about to pay those fees for this state.

Bought everything I could in WA, and bought a couple lottery draws in Idaho (Super Hunts, I think they're called?). Spending one more year in this state and then going to start hunting out of state.

started this coming year buying ID tags as well as WA. Yes, not cheap but how much is year round outdoor fun really worth to someone?

Heck, a day watching the Seachickens live covers a years worth of tags in WA!

No, i wont do a 10K+ guided hunt but will put money in for other state tags  and draws....

I started hunting Idaho two years ago now....it won't save you any money because you will end up buying Wa tags too.   :chuckle:

Except for Turkey and coyotes I will be washington free on my hunting schedule in 2019.  Still gonna buy all my stuff and apply for permits.  It's just another opportunity to draw a good tag.  Chalk it up to part of an application portfolio.  Subtract the small game out of it and it's not much more than buying a license to apply in ID, NV, or AZ.  Low odds at drawing but somebody has to win.

Oh yeah, cost wise there's no comparison, in-state is way cheaper. I am ok with upping my investment in this sport if it means a richer experience.

I'm a brand new hunter trying to figure out the process here in WA, so forgive me if this is a dumb question; where are the seasons posted for 2019? I've been searching the WDFW site and can only find 2018 information, so it doesn't appear they've released 2019 season info yet. How are you all finding season dates and permit hunt info his early into the year?

No no, but they will never go down so I'd rather be safe than sorry......you never know what may change between now and the permit deadline. :chuckle:
