Has anyone been up with any horse Packers the last few years. The old reviews look pretty rough and I'm sure half of pasayton turning black hasn't helped.

A group of 4 of us went with early winters last year for an un-guided drop camp. Nothing has changed from the old posts.
We were told there would be no-one around us; there was a camp 400 yds away that has been there every year for many years.
We had to set up and take down our own tent.
Rode in on horses and had to walk out. (We were told it was a two way trip, I asked specifically.)
Shovel had half a handle, splitting axe was a double bit.
When we called months prior to leaving, asking about where we would go, (to do map work), we would get no response.
We hiked our asses off every day. Three of the group saw zero deer. The fourth saw a buck and was able to tag it. That was it, one deer in 8 days of hunting. We talked to other hunters when we got out and they had seen no deer also.
Although the fires had done their job, there was plenty of cover and feed.
They were very nice people, the young trail guides were also good kids. Animals were in good shape and rode/packed well.

I've done a drop camp with early winters the last 2 seasons.  I believe Aaron owns cascade outfitters also.  What specifically do you want to know?

About leaky tents, broken promises and communication of site selection.

A Washington drop camp is most likely going to end in disappointment based on alot of the reviews that I've seen.  It does work out for a minority of folks though, I think once you are an established client you get the better equipment.  I wonder how these guys stay in business with the reports that come out of there.  Probably why they are at the sportsman show every year getting a new crop of folks who think getting packed in will lead to better hunting.

Last I knew he owned Cascade Wilderness Outfitters.  Not sure if he sold as referenced above.

The tent we got 2 seasons ago was brand new.  The one last season was in ok shape.  We run a tarp over our tent.  It helps with condensation and shedding snow and rain.

Aaron is pretty quiet about were his camps are.  If your a returning client you will get the same camp every year unless u ask for a different one.  The weather can also play a roll for camp selections.

I cant see Aaron breaking any promises.  Hes a no nonsense kinda guy.

If you want a really good drop camp in decent deer country for the high hunt call Scott at Three Peaks Outfitters in Cle Elum   They run a first class operation. I started working for outfitters in 1984 and have been around the west. I worked for him for four years.  I recommend them highly.
