I'm really glad to see the camaraderie and how cool you guys/gals are. So I finally got the nerves to stop stalking the forums and saying hi.
 
I'm a complete novice, although I have hiked and done other outdoor activities in the past. I signed up for hunter-ed (starting on Feb 4) and I was wondering what else can I do to get ready for fall, apart from shooting practice.

What do you guys do during the off-season? I would like to get as prepare as possible.

PS: Also, if someone is looking for a hiking partner/sailboat partner I'm in.

Shed hunting season is about to start up and turkey season will be here in a few months.
