Proposed new cougar seasons
« on: January 08, 2019, 02:19:56 AM »
Who has seen the pile of garbage. Moving the late season so it starts on Dec 16 and ending everything on march 30. So pretty much units will close sooner with their ridiculous guidelines.

Where did this come from I have not seen or heard of such a proposal.

Wow, so cougar would close right when late arch deer ends.  What a joke.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I saw somewhere I believe posted on here last year about a survey regarding this proposal. We were able to go on to the WDFW site and comment on this proposal. Oh I did haha. Yeah shortening the cat season is a bunch of crap but sounds like the way they are making it sound is moving the season back but yet still giving everyone opportunities through all the seasons. Joke in my opinion. I think its just sad that my cousin shot a cougar last year and put what was left of the carcass up on the hill behind his house with a cam on it. didn't take long when he got video of 4 cats in a single frame that were checking out the carcass. Those 4 cats plus the carcass I believe make up the total harvest quota for that entire unit and they were all pretty much in his back yard! Oh and he shot the one up behind his house too because the neighbors were having problems with one of them killing their house cats. Dumb.

People always talk about how they need to bring back hound hunting, baiting, leg holds and open wolf hunting etc.  Its not going to happen.  Look at the reality here.  Theyre still actively chipping away at predator hunting.  Taking away night hunting bobs in northeast, now proposing shortening cougar season.  The further they go in protecting predators, the more people are going to get fed up, and otherwise law abiding hunters are just going to say screw it and become outlaws.  More people will just get thoroughly disgusted with this crap and simply start doing what needs to be done.

This is a year old. Notice the time frame 2018 to 2020. It was not adopted.
