Sledding/Tubing areas?
«
on:

Anyone have some good suggestions for taking the kid up sledding or tubing? Thinking up towards Stevens Pass or Baker area on Sunday. Maybe Snoqualmie too. We usually go up the Mountain Loop Hwy but it is pretty limited and not very good.
Thanks.

In general this state stinks for sledding areas. I went to Idaho last year and Oregon over Christmas and their are sno parks everywhere with sledding hills. Washington state has done a poor job at developing any safe areas for kids to sled. You have to find some sketchy forest road hill side or go to a ski slope. Good luck.

snoqulalmie can be a zoo.. don't know if it has changed with online tickets or something, but they only sell so many per session.. once sold out, you have to wait for the next one. Can be sitting up there for awhile before you get on.

Depending on snow conditions there is a pretty good sledding hill next to the elk feeding station by the LT Murray Wildlife Area by the Watt Canyon Road. Get there before 8:00 AM and watch them feed the elk. The hill is pretty steep so you get going pretty fast. I think you need a Discovery Pass for the parking lot.
