This is really going to make me look stupid but my wife bought me a go pro this past Christmas and I tried to use it once right at shooting time and the bright red light seemed like it was very visible, especially at dawn.  Any suggestions on how to overcome this besides electrical tape?

you can turn the red dot off in settings
