Fox trapping?
« on: January 23, 2019, 04:31:56 PM »
This is my first season trapping and i was asked by a family friend to try to trap a Fox that is getting his chickens.

I know getting a dog in a live trap is a challenge, even though i saw that coyote posted earlier today, i was curious if anyone has any experience getting foxes in cage traps. Any advice or expertise would be greatly appreciated!

I caught one a few yrs. ago on a nuisance complaint.  I used dry cat food because that was what the homeowner feed her pets.  Set the cage under the deck.
It never changes, but it is always different.

I've caught several when I was in Business.  Red fox will go into a cage trap.
If their around people than they will eat people food.  I caught one with fresh chicken eggs and I have also caught them with both dry and can cat and dog food.
Try the egg first and let us know.
You don't need a big cage trap.  I used a raccoon size, 10"x12"x32"
