Well... if a 7pt bull elk can be considered a spike, not a big leap to call a wood duck a mallard.

Hey, is it realistic for the person who is doing "Waterfowl Wednesday" to know what a mallard looks like?  After all, they don't expect us to be able to decipher regulations, interpret rules and somehow measure points through a pair of binoculars at distance, nor do they expect us to be able to identify fish, count fins and release fish without taking them out of the water while leaning over the side of a boat in heavy waves and traffic.  Let's be reasonable here.

Looks like an injured mallard hen trying to distract danger away from her brood to me. Not! Might me the same people that say "That is not a wolf, that is a coyote" that are responsible for this public relations rubbish.

ouch
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I'm surprised it doesn't say:

Fun fact:
If a predator is lurking nearby, like a wolf. Not that it could be a wolf, there are none here. Our wolves don't eat Gadwalls or whatever kind of duck this is. They eat deer and sheep. I mean.... if we were to have wolves we don't . Oh man did someone say wolf???
Nevermind.

thats not a mallard

The first time I looked at the post I didn't see any photos. It's a lot funnier now that I can see them haha.

Reminds me of a time 5 or 6 years ago some game wardens stopped us and did the check of everything. One guys, who seemed new, asked me what we shot again and I said something like 4 mallards, 2 wigeon and a goldeneye. He had the goldeneye in his hand and said well I don't see a goldeneye anywhere so where are you hiding the rest of the birds. His partner looked up from checking my buddies licenses rolled his eye and said let's go without checking my license. I think he was embarrassed for his new warden haha.
